Dedicated LR's Review
So first let me start by saying Oh My God…..not one, but two cliffhanger endings! It’s like hours of foreplay without the climax - frustrating and totally aggravating.
As you can imagine after that, I CANNOT wait for the next book! I love a good, strong female lead that can totally kick butt. Jillian Knight/Jessica Day is a great character; she’s tough, funny and all around kind of crazy.
The story picks up after the death of Jessica/Jillian’s parents death, as both she and her brother need to start new lives. Whilst her brother decides to take advantage of his fresh start and lead a different life, Jillian struggles to get past the love of her life that she had to leave behind.
The book was a one sit read which held my attention from the very beginning. The story of her past is heartbreaking and the story of the present is just as you would imagine it; a new life, new home, struggles with PTSD and a hot neighbour. Add to this a little fighting which makes for some interesting situations and a whole lot of fun!
All in all I really enjoyed the book, even with the crazy, frustrating ending. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a quick exciting read.
