Dedicated E's Review
Well that can I say? T.A. McKay has done it again! I finished this book and instantly messaged her about book two because holy freaking cow! What an ending. If you don't like cliff hangers, this is going to be a sucker punch! I was skeptical about reading this at first, purely because the main narrative is from a male point of view, and I can struggle with those if I'm not already into the story, but I needn't have been worried. The book is so well written that after half a chapter I was hooked. Needless to say I finished it in one hit!
Gabe Ryan, what a total sweetheart! I wanted to hug is stubborn alpha ass for most of the book. I felt a deep connection with him, and I could relate to him on a personal level, which made me fall for him that bit harder. He officially has a special place in my heart. For having gone through so much, to come out of it the way he has, and to have achieved what he has... just LOVE.
The relationship between him and his friend Clay had me in hysterics pretty much every time they're together. There's a comment in the book about them bickering like an old married couple, and I can't think of a way to better describe them. There is a serious Bromance going on there! This being said. the chemistry between Gabe and Rhys, well... Wowzers! Talk about steamy! At times I wanted to yell at them both to pull their heads out of their arses and just come clean, oh the frustration! But when they shut up the voices in their heads and just go with it... well... yeah.... just freaking HOT.
Like with most romance books, there is a villain, but oh boy does he gets what is coming to him. CREEP. From the first time I met him, I thought he was a total d-bag! I'm not one for spoilers, so I won't indulge too much.
I have to commend T.A McKay for this book. She made me fall in love with reading all over again after a bit of a reading drought. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. A total must read!
