Priest: A Love Story by Sierra Simone
Synopsis
There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God. I've always been good at following rules. Until she came. Then I learned new rules. My name is Tyler Anselm Bell. I'm twenty-nine years old. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again. I am a priest and this is my confession. ***Priest is a full-length standalone. For Mature Audiences Only*** |
Dedicated C's Review
What are the words that we think of when we hear, "Priest?" Holy, devout and possibly celibate? Sin free? The priest is the local messenger of God. He delivers the thoughts and teachings of God to guide us away from sin.
What are the words we think of when we hear, “Taboo?” Unthinkable, unforgivable and out of bounds? What maybe “Taboo” for some, is someone else’s norm.
Not in this case! This book (for me) is a “Taboo”. Priests are a messenger, a guider and a counselor. Not sex in a white collar!
I don’t know much about the catholic faith but I know that a Priest should not talk the way Tyler Bell does. Or should I say, `Father’ Tyler Bell. The way he talks . . . could melt the panties right off of you. He’s so H.O.T! Dirty and dominate. . . Just the way I like them! Well not the `Father’ part but . . . oh hell, you know what I mean!
I really did enjoy this book. To read the struggles and temptations a man of the cloth can have, is very interesting. A man of the cloth is a MAN too and to read the confliction of his love for God and his love for a woman, tugs at your heart. It did for me anyway. I found myself sighing, and tilting my head in sympathy. I don’t know the struggles of a priest. But I know the struggles of temptation. Yes, I know it’s a fictional book but I didn’t feel that it was. I felt like I was reading a book about an actual person(s) life. I mean if I’m honest with myself, I’m absolutely sure that this story of Tyler and Poppy has happened. Maybe not the way it did in this particular story but you get the point.
Would I recommend this book? If you’re looking for an unconventional love story that has really HOT sex, then YES! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this book.
Dedicated R's Review
Priest is the first book that I have read by this author and I can tell you I was not disappointed, it took me a couple of chapters to get into it but once I did I could not put it down for love nor money. Priest is a forbidden erotic romance, but that's not all it is, it is also a story about love, sacrifice and the struggle of wanting something when you know that you shouldn't.
Father Tyler Bell has been a priest for 3 years, he does things by the book never breaking the rules, that is until Poppy Danforth steps in to the confessional and into his carefully constructed life and changes everything. He is completely taken by her and starts to have feelings for her quite early on and with those feelings comes guilt and the carnal side of him that he chose to bury the moment he decided to become a priest. They try to fight their feelings but the chemistry and the pull they have towards each other is far too strong and they can't stay away from one another any longer.
“There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God. I've always been good at following rules. Until she came.”
There are a lot of hot and steamy sex scenes but there is in fact a pretty great story. I fell in love with Tyler as I read more of the story and why he actually chose to became a priest and sacrifice so much. I wsan't sure what to think of Poppy I found her quite manipulative at times. If you love to read Taboo/Forbidden love story with a lot of heat then I highly recommend reading this.
“Whatever happens after this, I just want you to know that this was worth it. You were worth it. You were worth everything.”
