Dedicated L's Review
I thoroughly enjoyed Truly Mine and I am beyond thrilled that it had a happy ending! I don’t always need a happy ending, but I definitely feel so much lighter and happier when there is one.
Truly and Tyler have been in lust since high school. They never really dated, but their attraction is undeniable and throughout their adulthood, they find themselves rekindling whenever Truly comes back into town. Their final encounter makes both of them decide, maybe more is necessary.
I really liked Truly as a character. Though she can be hard-headed, I really appreciate her strong, independent streak. She rises above the small town and poor upbringing she had to become intelligent and successful business women. She relies on the one thing that has remained consistent in her life, herself.
The love story itself is endearing. Tyler is a handsome man and he knows that whenever Truly shows up, it’ll take months for him to stop thinking about her. Finally, in their 40’s he’s settled and knows that he wants her for more than the rendezvous they’ve had in the past. Tyler knows what he wants, but it takes Truly time to realize that they are better together than apart.
This isn’t completely a light read. The characters each have problems and flaws that impact their actions, but the happy ending makes you feel elated when the story ends. The characters and their support systems feel authentic and human. It’s definitely an enjoyable read for romance lovers and the sex scenes are pretty fantastic!
